Role Specification

This Business Development role would be perfect for someone who really wants to help children in particular, and expand access to the latest prosthetics technology to reach people with worse health insurance policies who would not typically get access to the best technology. The role would be extremely well suited to someone who's driven by a passion for positive change to the industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing strategies relating to customer satisfaction, sales growth, and market adoption
  • Conducting research on how to fulfil customers’ needs and to identify new customers
  • Arranging meetings with clients
  • Assisting with the promotion of the company’s products/services
  • Preparing contracts
  • Building rapport with customers
  • Tracking performance and hitting sales targets
  • Carefully managing budgets for travel, hotels etc.

The ideal candidate would be willing to really get behind a brand, product and strategy and focus on delivering and executing on the business plan. We’re looking for someone who is self driven and motivated, is willing to rise to a challenge and think carefully about how to deliver the best results with a small amount of resources. The right person should have a long-term outlook and should be aiming to build long-term and sustainable business relationships. They should have a good knowledge of the prosthetics and orthotics sector and have a network of contacts to work with. We will expect you to have the following:

  • Experience as a Business Development Manager in the prosthetics and orthotics sector
  • Knowledge of principles of marketing
  • An excellent customer service attitude
  • Be familiar with CRM systems
  • A proven sales track record
  • Familiarity with the US billing/reimbursement system (L-Code system)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent at building rapport with customers
  • Great organizational and time management skills

Candidates should be willing to travel extensively around the USA on a daily/weekly basis.


Person Scorecard

  • BA/BSc (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing or a related field
  • 3+ years experience in prosthetics & orthotics or closely related sector
  • Proven track record of sales performance in growing business
  • Demonstrable strategic thinker
  • Enjoys the fast paced environment of a growing business
