Are you a creative marketing superstar with a flair for producing innovative content and campaigns to reach international audiences? If yes, this could be the role for you!

We are super excited to be recruiting for a Marketing Manager at Open Bionics to grow and engage our UK and US territories! Working with world-class content and an award-winning team, this is an important leadership position where you’ll be responsible for developing strong marketing strategies, securing international media coverage and always finding innovative ways to produce content that resonates with mainstream and targeted audiences.

This is a rare and unique opportunity for a can-do person to work closely with the co-founding team to scale the company, ideal for candidates looking to make a big impact and hold a lot of influence. Open Bionics has never worked with a press agency or advertisers. We create all our assets, campaigns, and press in-house, so we’re looking for a person that enjoys dreaming up, executing, and measuring high reach campaigns. We’ve grown the largest digital audience in the industry by creating joyful organic moments and we’re looking to continue that growth. There will be no outsourcing to agencies, this role is for a creative person who loves to write and create!

Open Bionics is a start-up and has ambitious growth plans, which will enable you to grow your personal career and responsibilities along with the company. The role itself involves:

  • Leadership & management. This role requires exceptional people management and time management, as well as the agility and adaptability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment - you’ll need to wear many hats. You will be responsible for line-managing the Content Creator, Lead Qualification Manager, Web Dev contractor, and Customer Success Officer.
  • Brand. You’ll work closely with the Chief Operating Officer on managing and growing an exciting young brand with an international reputation, as well as managing brand partnerships.
  • Creativity. You’ll have an abundance of creativity, excellent writing skills, and be able to spot an empowering story opportunity, and with great care, bring that story to life through innovative content across multiple channels.
  • Media. You’ll harness great relationships with journalists to secure regional, national and international media coverage, as well as respond swiftly to all inbound media enquiries and be confident fielding requests from journalists.
  • Reach. You will have a global outlook and will understand the cultural nuances of the USA and UK. You’ll have experience of successfully talking to and running campaigns for both audiences.
  • Lead Generation. You will use a combination of marketing and communications tactics to drive traffic to www.openbionics.com and encourage potential Hero Arm users to register interest.
  • Digital Channels. You will be responsible for the management of www.openbionics.com and all Open Bionics social media channels, which includes content creation, growth and community management.
  • Pay-Per-Click (PPC). You will have experience of implementing successful PPC campaigns using tools such as Facebook Pixel and Google Ads.
  • Data-driven. You will have experience of data capture and visualisation, and be confident using Google Analytics and native social analytics tools.
  • User-driven. Our Hero Arm users are at the heart of Open Bionics and frequently co-create campaigns and content. You will therefore develop and maintain genuine relationships with existing and potential Hero Arm users. Our users come first and are always the priority, you will champion their voice and empower their ideas.
  • Events. Currently all events for both users and clinicians are postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, however you will be involved in managing such events in the UK and USA once restrictions are lifted.
  • Technology. Staying abreast of new and emerging platforms and marketing techniques such as TikTok.

Person Scorecard:

Essential:

  • Experience of content marketing management (identifying opportunities, assigning videographer and ensuring right content reach)
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a wide range of audiences
  • Experience of working with media outlets (locally, nationally and internationally)
  • Experience of growing social platforms organically
  • Able to demonstrate strategic thinking, planning and execution
  • Passionate for making a difference and/or working with limb difference communities

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Mailchimp, Netsuite ERP or similar CRM platforms for marketing automation
